The two "Data Protection Code of Conducts" projects supported by European Commission and resulting from the C-SIG - Cloud Select Industry Group -  over the last years with contribution by EuroCIO to:
  • The Data Protection Code of Conduct for Cloud Services Providers covering  SaaS, PaaS, IaaS with no approval /positive opinion yet from WP29; SCOPE Europe is the independent code monitoring body coordinating this activity since mid 2017; we are following up with their progress.
  • The CISPE  workgroup (Cloud Infrastructure Services Providers Europe

The “Open Cloud Foundation”

The “Open Cloud Foundation”
This initiative has been kicked off in December 2017 and aims at providing the meta-framework with standards and best practices to ensure Cloud openness by bringing together providers, customers, research organizations and regulatory bodies at international level (beyond Europe). The “Open Cloud Foundation” will operate an observatory of industry practices against this framework and will use every available lever to help the industry to commit on this topic, all together. The EuroCIO is involved rather as observer, and will review deliverables of this initiative with their users and members (via SRC, NB Coordination Workgroup).

Digital Opportunity Scheme

Digital Opportunity Scheme
This initiative will provide cross-border traineeships in ICT Sector for up to 6,000 students and recent graduates in 2018-2020, with the aim to reduce the digital skills gap and help companies that have difficulties finding people with the needed ICT skills. The primary background on the study was the forecast produced by empirica which showed three scenarios for IT skills shortfalls in Europe – the worst case scenario was over 700,000 unfilled jobs in the 3 - 5 years coming up Focus is on national forces and development of curricula and training in digital skills for young people; analyze what skills can be provided in an internship for graduates with ICT or without ICT background, which requirements for students, etc. Erasmus project evaluation has been done and Erasmus+ initiative is being launched

DIGIFRAME

DIGIFRAME
The objective of the DIGIFRAME project is to develop an integrated digital organizational reference framework to strengthen digital capabilities. Over the years numerous frameworks have been developed: IT Service Capability maturity models, CMMI ,SixSigma, ITIL, COBIT5, Prince2. There is a need to understand better how organizations apply these tools and learn from experience. Software design and engineering are an essential capability for digital transformation. Consequently, we need to increase the competences of individuals in tandem with the collective organizational capabilities.
